The electronics for Brian May's Red Special

Switches

Currently it is extremely hard to purchase the necessary white switches to get "the look" of the Red Special. I have tracked down two places that you can actually get them from, but they are not cheap. In the US you can purchase them from RS Guitars, or in the UK from Burns. To order from Burns you must contact them directly to purchase the switches as they are not available on their web site.

Alternatively you can either have black switches, or convert them to white switches.

Potentiometers

These can be purchased from a variety of places, including Farnell, Highly Strung, and StewMac. But ideally should be 220k B LOG, which only Farnell offer.

Capacitor (tone control)

This can be purchased from a variety of places, including Farnell (many), Highly Strung, and StewMac.

Jack socket

This can be purchased from a variety of places, including Farnell, Axesrus, and Highly Strung.

Pickups

If you decide to go for the Tri-Sonic pickups then you can purchase them from Burns or Adeson. Alternatively, you can purchase single coil pickups and have chrome plated(coloured) covers to achieve the same visual effect but sacrifice the sound. These can be purchased from a variety of places, including Axesrus, and StewMac.
